Why We Built This Site
Kentucky records are not kept in one all-purpose database. The Franklin County Sheriff's Office maintains its own incident and arrest reports, the Regional Jail handles booking and custody information, and the Franklin Circuit Court Clerk keeps case files and dispositions. Kentucky State Police operates the central criminal-history repository and state registry, while the Kentucky Department of Corrections publishes KOOL for state custody and supervision. We built this guide to make those boundaries, request steps, official contacts, and fees easier to follow.

What We Cannot Do
This is a privately operated reference site, not part of Franklin County, the City of Frankfort, the Kentucky Court of Justice, or any law-enforcement agency. Those boundaries mean we cannot:
- Provide legal advice or apply a charge, warrant, or expungement rule to a particular situation
- Issue certified court documents, criminal histories, or other official copies
- Submit an open-records request, expungement petition, or other filing for a reader
- Retrieve a criminal record or perform an official background check
- Promise that an agency's address, hours, fee, or procedure has not changed
An official record must come from the office that maintains it, such as the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, Franklin Circuit Court Clerk, or Kentucky State Police. This site can explain the route, but it cannot supply the document.
